The Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC) is a consortium of 29 public colleges and universities which was founded in 1987 to further the aims of its member institutions. COPLAC strives to assert the value of a high-quality public liberal arts education. This goal is met in many ways, including by lobbying at the state and federal level, fostering faculty and student research across campuses, hosting conferences to connect faculty and students, and offering courses to students attending the participating institutions.
