Rachel J. Gdula is a junior International Relations Major and Honors and Philosophy minor at SUNY Geneseo. She is an upstate native and is from Syracuse, New York. Beyond secessionist movements, her academic interests include international human rights law, international development, and philosophy of law. She is excited to be taking COPLACDigital’s Divided Houses course as a way to learn more about secessionist and separatist movements in the United States, develop her skills with digital tools, and learn how to use these tools to make information and academic research more accessible to the public.
Maria Gershuni is a senior International Relations Major, and an Honors and Central and Eastern European Studies minor at SUNY Geneseo. She is a native of Brooklyn, New York, but was born in Moscow, Russia. Beyond secessionist movements, her academic interests include War and Peace studies, public diplomacy, and American foreign policy. She is also very excited to be taking the COPLACDigital Divided Houses course as a way to learn more, specifically, about domestic movements within the United States, and develop digital literacy skills.
